Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using ChoreLoop (the "Service"), including our website, mobile applications, and any related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ChoreLoop. We may update these terms from time to time, and the updated version will be effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Accounts & Registration
To use ChoreLoop, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Subscriptions & Payments
ChoreLoop offers a free tier with core features, and a Premium subscription that unlocks additional functionality.
Auto-Renewable Subscriptions
- ChoreLoop Premium Monthly: a recurring subscription billed monthly.
- ChoreLoop Premium Yearly: a recurring subscription billed annually.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
Billing & Payment
- On iOS, payment is processed through your Apple ID account via Apple's In-App Purchase system. All billing is managed by Apple.
- On Android, payment is processed through Google Play. All billing is managed by Google.
- On the web, payment is processed through Stripe.
- Prices are displayed in your local currency and may vary by region.
Cancellation & Refunds
- You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to Premium features until then.
- On iOS, manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- On Android, manage or cancel via Google Play Store > Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by the platform where you purchased (Apple, Google, or Stripe) according to their respective refund policies.
Free Trials
We may offer free trials from time to time. If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription at the standard rate.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use ChoreLoop only for its intended purpose: managing household chores, tasks, and schedules. You must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without permission.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, logos, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by ChoreLoop and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any content you create within ChoreLoop (such as chore names, notes, and descriptions). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
- We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChoreLoop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect (e.g., limitation of liability, intellectual property).
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
